The security situation in Central African Republic, Somalia and more recently South Sudan results in mass displacement of people. Such displacements of people cause over-crowding that is recipe for outbreaks.  This situation report from the WHO technical support team for Central Africa is a good example of what needs to be done for effective prevention of vaccine preventable diseases outbreaks. The lead article of todays posting (Kouadio KI et al) illustrates that including assessments and disease surveillance are essential additions to mass vaccinations.
